Here's an excellent opportunity to hone your picture-taking skills on a guided trip through Japan's historical and cultural heartland: ancient Kyoto, Kyushu and the Kansai region. Travel on bullet trains, stay in a 100-year-old Buddhist monastery, photograph ancient shrines, walk through Gion, haunt of the Geisha, learn night photography and ferry to Sakurajima, one of Kyushu's most spectacular active volcanoes. These are just a few of the exciting things we will be doing on this trip. You will benefit from having accomplished photographer and publisher Robin Nichols on this custom-designed photo tour. Robin has visited each location and has put together an itinerary designed so photographers get the maximum from each location in terms of light and activities. Throughout the trip he'll be available to help your understanding of the D-SLR (or advanced point-and-shoot camera) to a greater degree and will host several fun lectures and critique sessions along the route. Don't speak Japanese? No problem, neither does he! This tour is designed for the traveller to get the maximum 'Japanese' experience without the need for a foreign language, exploiting the unique photographic and cultural potential to the max. Departs November 2008, details on the CCE website at http://www.cce.usyd.edu.au - follow the link for the Travel Program |
